The goal | Introduction to the theoretical and practical aspects of the pathology and treatment of diseases of small animals (dogs, cats and small pets) and mastering the necessary skills important for direct involvement in clinical practice. | |||
The outcome | Student should be able to recognize the symptoms of certain diseases, do clinical examination and any necessary clinical procedures to diagnose and taking appropriate therapy and preventive measures in all cases of non-infectious and infectious diseases that are part of everyday clinical practice. | |||

Contents of lectures | Introduction. Diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Diseases of the digestive tract. Diseases of the urinary system. Hematology disorders. Endocrine and metabolic disorders. Autoimmune and immunologically-mediated diseases. Disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Diseases of the skin. Clinical toxicology. Clinical oncology. Diseases of small mammals and exotic pets. | |||
Contents of exercises | Program exercises - application of medicines, basic principles of fluid replacement, clinical procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, nervous, musculoskeletal and genitourinary system. Clinical practice - practicing clinical procedures: clinical examination, the application of drugs, intensive care, treatment of clinical cases. | |||
