    ConditionPassed anatomy, pathological physiology, general and special pathology. Knowledge acquired in physics, chemistry, physiology. Precedes lectures in clinical subjects
    The goal• To obtain knowledge in the principles, theories and mechanisms of different physical forms of treatment • to obtain the needed knowledge on the physical characteristics of different energy forms applied during treatment of organ systems • to obtain the basic skills needed for handling biomedical instruments and equipment for physical therapy • To deepen the knowledge in the physiology of pain, receptors and synapses, skeletal muscles and nerves and correlated pathological changes, as well as the means to neutralize them.
    The outcomeAfter attending the course the student should: 1. show the basic knowledge on physical therapy 2. be able to operate the equipment 3. know the application techniques in physical medicine 4. Obtain the needed quantum of knowledge in order to be able to select and apply the adequate physical treatment for different clinical cases.
    Contents
    Contents of lecturesTheoretical:Basic rules in physical therapy , electrotherapy , phototherapy and laser therapy, hydrotherapy, masotherapy , thermotheraopy and thermography, pleidotherapy, paraffin-therapy and balenotherapy , ultrasonotherapy .
    Contents of exercisesApplication of direct current, low frequency alternating current, medium-frequency and high-frequency currents (3). Lukotherapy, infrared ray diagnostics, heliotherapy, chromotherapy, actinotherapy, lasers, linear polarized light in therapy and diagnostics (3). Thermotherapy (2). Paraffinotherapy (1). Parafango, clay, peloidotherapy, mineral water (1)
