The goal | Specialization of students for use methods of evaluation, monitoring and planing in the reproductive management of farm animals, reproductive management and its control and guidance in: cattle, pigs, sheep and goats, equids, carnivores. Students will be able to more effectively use previously acquired knowledge in practical work. | |||
The outcome | After successful completion of the course, students will acquire knowledge on: detail knowledge of reproduction in farm animals (domestic mammals), knowledge of nutrition, health and reproduction management; knowledge of service period, insemination index, oestrus induction and delivery, in particular the management of reproduction in cattle and the monitoring of reproduction parameters and farm support. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Reproduction parameters in cattle, sheep and goats, horses, pigs, birds and domestic animals pets. Control of pregnancy in cows, sheep and goats, pigs, mares, laboratory, wild and pets. Diagnosis of pregnancy in domestic mammals, birth control, delivery induction, normal and pathological puerperium, ovarian cycle, folliculogenesis, service period, optimum insemination time, index insemination, standards for reproduction of domestic mammals, reproductive management (keeping reproductive lists), perinatal and postnatal mortality, linkage of diet management and reproduction in cattle and pig farming, the analysis of the biochemical findings and results of the metabolic profile, phased diet on sheep farms | |||
Contents of exercises | Clinical, laboratory and ultrasound diagnostics of pregnancy in domestic mammals. Control of fertility of the herd and analysis of the causes of subfertility and sterility in herds. Manage list with reproduction parameters. Induction of estrus and partus in mammals. Control the cows in the renaissance and the advance. Clinical examination of genital tract of females of males. Clinical and laboratory methods for determining pregnancy, ultrasound diagnostics . | |||
