The goal | Acquiring knowledge on standard microbiological and immunological methods for identification of isolated microorganisms and the methods of determination of immunological status of infected and immunized animals.
The outcome | Students should be able to properly perform sampling, packaging and shipping of suspected material, to learn to use the microscope and carry out microbiological staining methods in order to morphologically identify microorganisms from suspected material. Students should be capable of performing the isolation of microorganisms in pure culture and their identification by applying standard diagnostic methods as well as automatic identification systems and to carry out basic serological and virological diagnostic methods.
